Chapter 7

Chapter 7 was very helpful and taught me multiple techniques when it comes organizing and managing info that that i have collected. It also talks about saving digital files, downloading, and how to back them up on the computer. It lists how to use your bibliography to organize and find info when writing your research, Lastly it describes how to make an annotated bib.

Chapter 6

After reading chapter 6, i realized the importance of note taking. Note taking is viable to the writing process because it allows you to; organize thoughts, keep track of the most important info, ideas, and arguments. Not only that but when working with more than just a couple sources it helps to keep track of what info you got from each source.
 This chapter also talks about how to use quotes from text and how to use them properly. It also says when to and when not to use them. Lastly how to paraphrase and summarize them.

Chapter 4 "The Bedford Researcher"

Chapter 4 focuses on a few main aspects of "reading critically and actively" such as reading with an attitude. This means being critical when reading potential sources. Later it talks about distinguishing between critical reading and evaluating.  While these are easy to get confused evaluating focuses on how well the source meets your need while critical reading questioning what is says and wheat it means focuses your attention on if the article makes sense. Lastly it talks about primary and secondary sources and what that means as a reader and a writer.

Chapter 2 "The Bedford Researcher"

After reading chapter 2, I found that this will be a helpful guide to choosing sources and citing them correctly. First it explains how to identify useful types of sources and later how to review annotate and mark the sources that you would like to use. This chapter also demonstrates how to find the validity of a source by doing a little background research on the author. Over all this chapter is a very valuable tool when it comes to choosing a topic and knowing if there will be good sources to back it.

Chapter 1 Connections

After reading chapter 1, I realized that it was describing exactly what we are doing when it comes to what stage we are on in our final paper. Ideally we are in the very beginning stages of our research paper which brings on the challenge of picking a topic. One of the major focuses of this chapter is "choosing a promising and appropriate topic". It explains how to do so, and gives criteria that the topic should meet. Another thing I thought was helpful from this chapter is how it talked about how to write your paper like a form of conversation. Overall this chapter reflected pretty much exactly what we have been doing in class.

National Debt due to China.

1. How much money did we owe to China 10 years ago vs. now?

2. What is likely to happen with so much debt to another country?
3. How can we pay off these debts in a reasonable amount of time?

4. What has happened in the past when we in debt with another country or vice versa?

5. What are some of the main causes of this debt?


Nuclear Power/Warfare.

1. What are some of the effects of using nuclear power?

2. How has nuclear power benefited or not benefited todays society?

3. What are the financial costs of having nuclear power and or producing it?

4. How has radiation affected the worlds atmosphere and "health"

5. How does a country know when to use nuclear power and for what reasons?


Recently Found Water On Mars

1. What does this offer for human life?

2.What strategies can we use to create a livable planet?

3. Have we ever found anything like this before?

4. Who will control what goes on?

5.What do we know and not know about this planet?
